Hospitality Connect is a UK-wide education–industry partnership programme designed to introduce young people to careers in the hospitality sector. It connects schools with local hotels and hospitality businesses to give students real-world insight into the industry.
π― Purpose
- Inspire young people to consider careers in hospitality
- Improve understanding of the wide range of roles in the sector
- Help address skills shortages by building a future talent pipeline
π§π What students experience
Through the programme, students take part in activities such as:
- Workplace visits to hotels and venues
- Careers talks and employer-led sessions
- Hands-on experiences (e.g. cooking, customer service tasks)
- CV workshops, mock interviews, and employability skills sessions
π€ How it works
- Each participating school is partnered with a local hospitality employer
- Activities take place both in school and on-site at venues
- Colleges and careers hubs are also involved to show clear postβ16 pathways
π‘ Why it matters
Hospitality Connect is about changing perceptions - helping students, parents, and teachers see hospitality as a skilled, diverse, and rewarding career path, not just a temporary job.
